Initial Thoughts:

Seth Rogen is a funny guy, I’ve seen a bunch of his movies. I like Rose Byrne as well (see her in Damages for her best work) and she’s shown she can also do comedy. Really though I didn’t have much interest in this movie, basically I take my wife to a lot of geeky movies, so it’s only fair once in a while for her to pick one.

Main Points:

This is one of those cases where sadly most of the funny parts where in the trailer. Granted there are some good scenes but they are not enough for my liking. To be fair this was a clever idea for a movie and I can’t fault any of the actors, there’s just not a lot of story to work with.

Also what is it with Seth Rogen? It seems like almost every movie he plays almost the exact same character. Sure sometimes he has different jobs, sometimes he’s a family man or the supportive friend but it just seems like he’s always playing some version of himself and it just gets old.

I will say a scene where Dave Franco (including Christopher Mintz-Plasse of "Kick Ass" fame) all do impression of Robert De Niro (along with some of other celebs) is quite funny. A scene where they all make dildos was always amusing (and a little gross). Sadly though for just an hour and a half movie I still go a little bored.

Final Thoughts:

I really don’t have much recommend with this one. If you really love any of the main cast (and like some raunchy humour and nudity) then perhaps go if you’ve seen Spiderman 2, Godzilla and Cap 2 (or like me couldn’t get your date to see any of them). I give it 6/10 and certainly only suggest adults see it. Next time will be an a book review, this one of a collection of short stories.
