Is this your first book or have you been writing for a while?

It’s my 3rd novel.  I’ve been writing since 2011.

Is this book part of a series?

No, stand alone.

Tell me a little about the book, what genre, short summary, that kind of thing, also what age group is it meant for?

It’s meant for young adults and everyone.  In short, it’s about two teenage boys who mess around with Voodoo under the guidance of an old Haitian bokor.

How about a little bit about you? (or a lot if you prefer) What makes you tick? What turn’s you on? 😉

I’m a wife, mother, teacher, coach, dog lover, tennis player, conspiracy theorist, sometimes radio personality, and author.  Paranormal anything and conspiracy theories turn me on the most.  I’m kind of a geek, preferring Ancient Aliens to the Lifetime channel. I also used to teach chess.  I love to read just about anything, especially books with research woven into the plot.

What is the trait you value most in others?

Kindness and honesty, both you can’t fake for very long.

If you could have two superpowers what would they be and why?

They wouldn’t be the ability to read another’s mind-don’t want to know what others are thinking.  Probably the ability to move objects without touching them-telekinesis I think.  Flying is also cool.

Marvel or DC?

Not much of a comic book fan.

 Favourite TV show?

Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Ancient Aliens, House Hunters

Have you always been interested in writing?

I teach reading and English.  When I was laid off in ’10, I decided to try it.  I’m back to working, but found out that I could put together not one, but four novels and several shorts.

What do you think is the best part about being a writer?

It’s therapeutic.  I like being able to kill, screw, steal, lie, and be an insane freak without any consequences-LOL!  It’s like a puzzle and your imagination creates the pieces.

What’s the worst part of writing?

Promotions.

Do you think the future is in Ebooks? Or will print make a comeback?

Print is on the way side.  However, I like the paper-no battery required and you can read in the tub or the pool without worrying about ruining the device.

 Do you like your job?

I love being a teacher and coach.

If you could have a different career/job what would it be?

In a perfect world, I would have loved to be a reporter for the National Enquirer.

What are you reading right now?

Tony-Paul Vissage’s Nightman Cometh, a vampire book.

What was the last movie you saw?

The Family with DeNiro and Pffeifer-not that great.

What was the last book you really loved?

Dance with Dragons by George RR Martin

Have you ever met someone you only talked to online before?

As a writer, all of the time.

Do you go to Sci-Fi/Fantasy or any other kinds of conventions?

Yes and love them.  I really loved Printers Row, Chicago, and Flashback Weekend-Rosemont, IL.

Do you ever read comic books/graphic novels?

No.

How do you feel about promotion? Any tips for other writers?

It’s brutal, but has to be done.  Radio is my favorite and of course being your guest!!!!!!

Response: Aww, how nice of you to say, thanks Dina. You were a great guest too.

Favourite author?

Hmmm-King, Dan Brown, Preston and Childs, Thor are pretty consistent with great stories.

Favourite person (living or dead)?

Jesus Christ.

Would you consider yourself religious?

Yes, a Christian.

What do you think is the biggest problem in the world today?

Government is too big, too much in your business, and people have become too afraid.  Political correctness is more important than what’s right and wrong.

If you had all the money you ever wanted, what would you do?

Travel, share it with friends and family, donate to important causes like cancer and MS.

What’s the secret to happiness?

I wouldn’t know.  But family and dogs are what make me calm.

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me, best of luck with your book and hey I’m a writer too. E-mail me anytime if you want to chat TheNLVampire@gmail.com thanks again!

Thank you!!!!!!
