Initial Thoughts:

Being a fan of both Edgar Allan Poe and John Cusack this was another movie I wanted to see for a while and the other night I finally did.

Main Points:

John Cusack is quite good here and from what I know gets many of the details of Poe’s character and life correct. Poe had a lot of problems and certainly was not rich and successful in his life. The plot of the movie is almost entirely fiction but that doesn’t take away my interest in the movie.Smile

I’ll admit that I haven’t read every Poe story but I did appreciate many of the references and atmosphere of the film is creepy and fitting. There were some gory scenes and as usual I would not recommend this movie for children.

Final Thoughts:

The movie doesn’t really have any serious flaws, it’s just that there’s not a lot to it. Cusack is fun to watch but he’s not able to carry the whole movie. I give it 7/10 and a mild recommendation Thumbs up. Have a great weekend everyone, oh if you haven’t read any of the Punisher Max comics (and you’re 18) you should really check them out Hot smile.Until next time I am as always…
