Initial Thoughts:

I’m a Bond fan, and more recently a Daniel Craig one. I’ll admit that I haven’t seen nearly all the Bond movies but I’ll also be the first to say that I think Craig is the best Bond in quite a while (I like him better than Pierce Bronson) so obviously I was looking forward to this movie. Smile

Main Points:

This movie delivers plenty of action and a good story. The villain is played splendidly by the always creepy Javier Bardem. Of course M is play by the always wonderful Dame Judi Dench. With those things said there were still aspects of the movie I didn’t like. I always had fun seeing what new gadgets Bond would have and his fun interaction with the old and somewhat cranky Q. Thinking smile

This movie departs from that Bond staple, Bond is played by a much younger actor and he is given no exciting gadgets at all! Annoyed For the rest I’ll move into

I was very surprised that they killed M! Sad smile With her and Q replaced the movies just won’t be the same for me. Thinking on it though I guess these changes were inevitable as the two actors get older. (In fact one of them has passed away) Bond is in rough shape for most of this movie and it was also surprising that M faked his physical test results. Perhaps it was the guilt of risking his life by having another agent (Moneypenny) shot at him.

Final Thoughts:

For me my favourite Bond movie of the past ten+ years was Casino Royale. That just had everything I loved about Bond in it and I’ll admit it I do love Poker. This is a worthy addition that I enjoyed and I certainly recommend it to any Bond fan Thumbs up. The big showdown at the end is excellent and much different from anything I’ve seen in another Bond movie. “Skyfall” is explained but it was also a surprise to me (and one I won’t spoil Hot smile). Also the opening montage is excellent and the song “Skyfall” is very catchy.I will give this an 8/10. If you’re looking to get away from the family this Thanksgiving, this is certainly a pleasant way to pass a few hours. Until next time I am as always…
